Brown men's basketball coach Craig Robinson is westward bound.
According to The Corvallis Gazette-Times, Robinson has accepted the head coaching job at Oregon State, where he will succeed Jay John. John was fired on Jan. 20 after leading the Beavers for five-and-a-half years.
Oregon State lost its final 21 games of the season, finishing last in the Pacific-10 conference with an 0-18 league record and 6-25 mark overall.
Under John, the Beavers had just one winning season.
Robinson, on the other hand, spent just two years at Brown after taking over from Glen Miller, who is the head coach at Penn.
Robinson led the Bears to a 30-27 record and went 19-10 this season with an 11-3 mark in the Ivy League, good for second place. The Bears had a ratings percentage index of 106 this season and earned a trip to the College Basketball Invitational.
Before his time at Brown, Robinson served as an assistant coach at Northwestern.
It was originally reported that the job was offered to Indiana University-Purdue University Indianapolis head coach Ron Hunter. However, he told the Indianapolis TV station WTHR that he was not offered the job.
