Former Quakers football standout Jim Finn has reached a five-year deal in principle to remain with the NFL's New York Giants.
After spending the past two seasons with the team, Finn became an unrestricted free agent after the 2004 season. The fullback was pursued by Houston and Tampa Bay, but in the next few days will officially put to paper the contract to remain with the Giants.
Finn played for Penn from 1995 to 1998, recording 2,251 career yards and 28 touchdowns. His senior year, he ran for 17 touchdowns and rushed for 1,450 yards -- a mark which still stands as the Red and Blue's all-time best.
Finn was drafted by Chicago with the 253rd -- and final -- pick in 1999, but never played for the Bears. After a brief stint with Indianapolis, he signed with the Giants in 2003, and appeared in all 16 games in 2004.
