W. X-Country takes sixth at Penn State Open

A pair of trusty seniors led the way for the Penn women's cross-country team this weekend, as Emily Logan and Elaina Lord paced the Quakers at the Penn State Open in State College, Pa. The Red and Blue finished the meet sixth overall.

Logan finished the race 29th individually in 21:44.29, with Lord close behind at 21:48.78. Freshmen Emily Buzzell and Jennifer Blank and junior Claire Duncan also scored for Penn, placing 53rd, 62nd and 80th, respectively.

No. 10 Providence took the overall championship, with Ivy rival Columbia finishing second. The Lions are ranked No. 9 in the country.

Penn will travel to New York's Van Cortlandt Park on Halloween to compete in the Heptagonal Championships, the equivalent of the Ivy League Championships for cross-country.

Penn last competed in Van Cortlandt Park at the Fordham Invitational on Sept. 13, where they placed second overall behind Columbia.
