Penn's Castles named Ivy Player of Week on 'O'

In the Penn football team's first real test since losing its all-time leading receiver in Rob Milanese, another receiver filled the void to help the Quakers pull out a comeback victory over No. 19 Lehigh.

After a 153-yard, three-touchdown day against Lehigh, Dan Castles was named Ivy League Offensive Player of the Week.

The junior's three touchdown catches tied a Penn record held by five other people for touchdown catches in a game. Penn last accomplished the feat in the 1986 season.

The Toms River, N.J., native grabbed the game-tying touchdown against Lehigh with 13:27 remaining in the game.

The senior is currently fourth in Ivy League receiving yards and 24th in Division I-AA. Castles is averaging 7.5 yards per game and 11.3 yards per catch. Last year he grabbed 24 catches for 389 yards, including six touchdowns, finishing third overall in team receiving.

Sophomore Sam Mathews was named to the Ivy League honor roll after rushing with 128 yards at Lehigh.
