The Wild Blue

*This article appeared in the 4/1/02 Joke Issue*Frosh wonders if frat boy will call her back as promised Leslie Greenberg, an 18-year-old freshman from Great Neck, N.Y., had a great time at a Kappa Sigma party last Thursday night.

Now, she sits anxiously by the phone in her second-floor Class of 1928 residence, waiting for Wharton junior and Kappa Sig brother Andrew Butler to call.

"He was a really nice, interesting guy," Greenberg said yesterday. "He seemed interested in me. I thought we really hit it off."

"I gave him my number, and he promised he'd call," she added.

Butler, who is the co-captain of the lacrosse team and the grand scribe for his fraternity, could not be reached for comment, but College junior and fellow Kappa Sig brother Sam "Tiny" Cassidy said he saw Butler "getting cozy with a whole bunch of chicks" Thursday.

"Dude, Andy was mackin' it like nobody's business," said an admiring Cassidy, a Political Science major. "He must've bagged, like, six phone numbers that night."

Cassidy could not recall seeing Butler with Greenberg on Thursday, saying only, "Was that the bitch that threw up in our sink?"

-- Sebastian Stockton Student thinks TA is 'all that' For most students, Economics 001 recitation is a painful Thursday morning ordeal.

Not so for the male students in section 218, led by fourth-year Economics graduate student Kelly Johnson.

And college sophomore Joseph Pagano, who hails from Perth Amboy, N.J., wakes up extra early on Thursdays to get himself ready for class with the Graduate Employees Together-University of Pennsylvania member and former Miss Teen New Jersey.

"She comes from New Jersey -- like me," the History major boasted. "She is so awesome, and she is not even Italian-like."

Pagano visits Johnson's office hours every week, often staying for the entire two-hour 4 p.m. Friday session.

"Not only is she hot," Pagano said, "but she is, like, totally smart. She is all that."

Added Pagano: "I think the reason I do so well in Econ is the enthusiasm she brings to the class."

"He tries really hard in class," Johnson said of Pagano, who has maintained a D+ average throughout the semester. "I get the sense that he really wants to learn."

According to friend and College junior Randy Morley, who is also in Johnson's recitation, "I don't think he's ever made eye contact with her."
