According to neighbors and College sophomores Jen Maranki and Cindy Brinkman, Fiore got so drunk while waiting to find out if he got a DP editorship, that he began dancing on a chair to the point where he almost fell over. And when he thinks people aren't looking, the College sophomore will loudly attempt to impersonate Whitney Houston or Garth Brooks, friends say. With a practical harem of female friends, Fiore is "just like one of the girls," Maranki said -- to the extent that three of his close female friends saw no problem in stripping for him. "Mark was really embarrassed," Brinkman said. "He didn't want to see it." Fiore's mother, Joan, claims that her son is "a very, very good boy" who never, ever got into trouble. Incredibly organized and neat, Fiore would fill notecards each week with detailed wardrobe descriptions, to make sure he did not duplicate what he wore. Yet Joan Fiore did recall that Mark often exercised his power of being four minutes older than his twin, Luke. "When he was very little, he'd be sitting next to his twin in high chairs and Mark would take his bowl of hot oatmeal and place it on Luke's head -- as a hat," she remembered. But most said Fiore generally treats people right -- even giving an ex-girlfriend, Vassar sophomore Ali Dorris, 19 roses for her birthday last year. It's safe to say, therefore, that the DP's general assignment reporters are in good hands. --Randi Feigenbaum
