The student, Aad Lander, remained hospitalized last night at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania and was in stable condition, a hospital spokesperson said. Police said they picked up Lander outside the Phi Kappa Sigma fraternity house at 1:08 a.m. on Friday. The alcohol that Lander drank caused a reaction that required treatment at the HUP, police said. College junior Ed Michvech, the house manager for Phi Kap, declined to comment last night, and said that the chapter's president, Michael Stone, would be unable to comment until "at the very earliest" later this week. University Police Sergeant Larry Salotti said last night that police had received a report of a student who was taken from a fraternity house to HUP on Friday morning for an excess of alcohol consumption. But he would not confirm the student's name or the location of the incident. -- Joshua Goldwert
