To the Editor: Penn 6-5000 receives thousands in funding from SAC to put on two shows. While they receive enormous amounts of money, they do not have to pay their revenues back. We pay, and they use ticket sales as they please. Whether to travel to other schools or to have a giant party, our money -- the student's funds -- are being misused. At the last meeting, I and most of the other SAC reps were repulsed by the fact that Penn 6-5000 had the nerve to request even more money for a third show. When SAC refused, stating Penn 6-5000 could use ticket money or borrow from SAC, the Penn 6-5000 rep said it would be too much of a hassle to fill out the extra paperwork. Evidently, Penn 6-5000 thinks it's much easier to spend the money of others than sacrifice their precious ticket revenues. Groups that freely take the University's money at the expense of students are of no use to this school. If Penn 6-5000, Counterparts and any other a cappella group wants to charge more than $2, they should be kicked out of SAC and fund themselves.
