Another addition to the football staff

I reported last week that Jon McLaughlin has been promoted to the offensive coordinator position after three years coaching Penn's offensive line. That story also said that a new tight-ends coach had been added, and I've since learned that the job went to Mark Fabish, a former Quakers wide receiver who graduated in 1997. He was a four-year letter winner and won two Ivy League championship rings. He holds the school records for punt return average and kickoff return yards.

Penn hired him away from Rhode Island, where he served as quarterbacks coach, wide receivers coach and recruiting coordinator for one year, according to his bio. Prior to that, Fabish worked at Division III Monmouth for ten years, six as offensive coordinator.

An official announcement on both hires should come as soon as all the paperwork is finalized.
