Penn basketball preview 2011: The making of Jerome Allen

With tonight's tip-off at UMBC, we've published our annual Basketball Preview in today's DP. There's some exclusive content (Big 5 & Ivy League previews) in the print edition so be sure to pick it up on rack stands around campus today. Here's what's inside:

Kevin Esteves penned the cover story, The making of Jerome Allen, about the coach's various influences in a wide-ranging basketball career. From Dan Dougherty to Fran Dunphy, Larry Brown to Dusko Ivanovic, Esteves gets to the heart of what made Allen the coach he is today.
Sudan and Los Angeles may be worlds apart, but basketball is the common thread for the upbringings of sophomore guards Dau Jok and Miles Cartwright. Brian Kotloff writes about the 'brotherly love' for basketball in the Jok and Cartwright households.
Megan Soisson explains just how Penn was able to find freshman Keelan Cairns, an Irish native — it's not every day the gym custodian hits the recruiting trail.
It's hard to imagine Penn basketball for the last three years without point guard Zack Rosen. But the senior three-year captain almost didn't end up at Penn — he was pursued by the likes of Jay Wright and Villanova.
