Penn basketball memories: Multi-talented Quakers

Some Penn basketball moments don't have to happen on the court.

Your favorite Penn basketball memory?

I had season tickets all four years at Penn, but only did the Line my senior year. I joined forces with two friends from my performing arts group - The Excelano Project - and one of my friends' then girlfriends. I remember being in Van Pelt when the Line's location was announced, and bolting outside and running faster than I ever have in my life to meet my other three Line-mates. That weekend, we slept over in the Palestra. It was pretty fun. Definitely pretty cool and hip.

But the best part - my favorite part - was the next day when we watched the team scrimmage, because two of the players were also in our performing arts group. I loved not only supporting my school, but my friends. It was such a testament to the versatility, talent, and multifaceted nature of Penn students. Here were two Ivy League athletes - brilliant and gifted, both on and off the court. It was amazing to share the Line with other members of Excleano, knowing we'd be supporting Steve Danley and Ibrahim Jaaber from our seats all season, and then see them at Excelano practice later that week.
