Greg Louis had hip surgery, out for several months
We hadn't seen him in either of the preseason scrimmages so far, and now we know why: The Philly Daily News is reporting that highly-touted freshman forward Greg Louis recently underwent hip surgery and "will be out for at least several months."
Louis was expected to be an early contributor in a Penn frontcourt still looking to replace big men Jack Eggleston and Conor Turley, who both graduated last year. Louis played for the Florida state champion Dwyer high school team last year, and was ranked one of the top players in the state last spring.
When the DP spoke to Louis about his commitment last year, he was quietly confident about making an impact on the program: "“I’m not really big on talking," he said. "I’ll show you next year.”
But due to some unforeseen circumstances, it looks like we'll now have to wait a bit longer.
