Basketball recruit Tony Hicks drops 38 in season opener

High school hoops is underway across the nation, and while the four Penn commits don't necessarily have college coaches to impress anymore, they're still putting in some work. Two future Quakers tipped off their senior seasons last night:

  • Tony Hicks, a guard out of St. Rita's in Chicago, scored an insane 38 points in his season opener last night, as St. Rita's beat Lake Forest Academy 79-61.
  • Julian Harrell and Loyola also won their season opener 81-42, as Harrell scored 13 points on 5-for-7 shooting. He also had four assists and six steals.
  • Big man Darian Nelson-Henry doesn't kick off his season until Friday, and point guard Jamal Lewis of Sidwell Friends plays tonight. Interestingly, Lewis will face Hicks and St. Rita's at the Gonzaga DC Classic in Washington on Dec. 9.
