Barreiro named as nominee for Top Men's College Player

As the off season gets underway of Penn soccer's own is getting some recognition. This past weekend senior midfielder Christian Barreiro was named as a finalist for Soccer News Net College Boot Award.

After finishing up a successful career with the Quakers which saw him achieve fifth highest points total in team history, Barreiro was nominated by Philly Soccer News as one of four players to represent the Mid-Atlantic region.

Barreiro was named First Team All-Ivy for the second straight year after scoring 7 goals and recording 7 assists.

The full list comprises some of the country's best players and top prospects. Online fan voting will account for 40% of the total toward the award. The remaining 60% of the vote will be cast by the editorial staffs of the six web sites. Voters can go to www.phillysoccernews.com to vote for Barreiro.
