The Ivy preseason 'media' poll came out this morning in New Haven. Not useful for much except eating up time until kickoff, but here are some of my thoughts on the rankings, and I would like to hear yours -- leave a comment or email me at scurria@sas.upenn.edu.

2) Penn (1)
3) Harvard (1)
4) Princeton
5) Cornell
6) Columbia
7) Brown
8) Dartmouth
Athlon Eastern had an identical lineup a few weeks ago, while Street and Smith's looked a bit different (Penn-Princeton flipped, Dartmouth-Brown flipped).
The voters did a good job of not penalizing the Quakers for last year's miscues.
Yale is in its rightful place on top. Losing the top three recievers hurts, but bringing back the starting QB and the league's most durable tailback takes the sting off. Wouldn't be fair to suggest that they aren't the team to beat, based on last year's title.
If you want me to send you a clip, I'll send you a clip of Columbia being over-seeded. I realize there is new talent there. But for a team that scored 66 points in Ivy play last year, not enough to be ranked ahead of a team that beat Penn at Franklin Field. That is unless a certain O-line coach was hired to teach their guys how to tackle.
Sorry coach Wilson. I'll try not to do that again for at least a few weeks. But no promises.
