DEEEEETROIT BASKETBALL

It was announced today that Ibrahim Jaaber will play on the Pistons' Las Vegas summer league team, joining the likes of UCLA's Arron Afflalo and almost-lottery pick Rodney Stuckey of Eastern Washington. His first game for an NBA team will be against the Sixers on Saturday at COX Pavilion.

All of the summer league games will be available via webcast on NBA.com.

On the collegiate front, men's golf coach Rob Powelson became the second successful Steve Bilsky hire in a week to walk away from Penn. The third-year golf coach, who led Penn to an Ivy League title in his final season, left to spend more time with his family, according to the athletic department.

It'll be interesting to see how coveted the men's golf job will be. Penn returns the bulk of its team that just won the league, and whoever steps in will get star Chance Pipitone's services for three more years.

The men's golf program doesn't carry any assistants, so the next hire will come from outside of the program.
