Preseason poll reaction

Ivy League fans got their first look at the conference's preseason media poll today. Here's the order with first-place votes in parentheses.

4. Yale, 77
5. Columbia, 65
6. Brown, 50
7. Harvard, 36
8. Dartmouth, 31

Here are a few reactions, and I welcome yours in the comments section below.

The Quakers are in their rightful place. Way too much all-league talent to be hurt by a coaching change or the loss of Eric Osmundson and David Whitehurst.

Third place strikes me as way too high for Cornell. Adam Gore led the league in three-pointers, but I'd like to see how many open looks he gets without former all-Ivy guard Lenny Collins around.

Columbia is too low at fifth. John Baumann and Ben Nwachukwu will continue to be a force underneath, and this is the year that the junior-heavy squad will come together in preparation for their title run next season.

Princeton got a first-place nod? Didn't realize Joe Scott got a vote. I have the Tigers fourth behind Penn, Columbia and Yale and ahead of Cornell, Harvard, Brown and Dartmouth.
