After the Inquirer ran an opinion piece last week about ending Penn football's toast toss, the DP decided to take a deeper look into the 30+ year old tradition.

From today's print edition:

• News beat writer MK Kleva takes the plunge into the sports section (once you go backpage, you don't go back) and examines the history of the toss— as well as both sides of the raging bread debate.
• I give a retort, of sorts, to calls that the tradition should be changed or done away with due to concerns of food waste.
