ESPN takes notice of M. Soccer's Stephen Baker

 

After week one when freshman Stephen Baker scored three times, it was easy to assume there was a little beginner's luck at play.

But here we are a month into the season and Baker just won't quit. He scored his seventh goal through eight games this weekend and leads the league in a bevy of statistics:

  • Shots: 5.43/game
  • Points: 16 (1.86/g)
  • Goals: 7 (.86/g)
  • Game winning goals (tied): 2 (.29/g)
So after a stellar first month, it's only fitting that ESPN put Baker in a weekly piece featuring "impact performances" from NCAA sports (below). With the conference slate starting this weekend, the question is will the honeymoon end? I can't see any reason why it would.
