Good morning, Penn.

Given how cloudy it was on Penn's campus yesterday, it turns out that DP Daybreak's coverage may indeed be more enlightening than the sun's.

Nonetheless, DP reporters and photographers fanned out across campus to capture the movement of the moon's shadow witnessed by thousands of community members — including Interim President Larry Jameson. Also, opening statements begin today in a trial over the 2018 homicide of a former Penn student.

But first, a new group of alumni is calling for Penn to strengthen free speech protections in light of events on campus last fall.
