Seven months ago, College senior Michael Krone and College junior Jordan Andrews won Undergraduate Assembly president and vice president, respectively, with promises to improve mental wellness, transparency, and inclusivity on Penn’s campus. Now, with only a few weeks left in the semester, transparency has become their top priority. 


Mold was found in 100 more rooms in the Quad over Fall Break

Minor evidence of mold, moisture, and mildew was found in about 100 student rooms in the Quad this past weekend. University administrators said they worked with outside contractors over fall break to address the mold, allowing most residents to return to their rooms by Sunday. However, there are still six rooms under mold remediation, which has forced approximately 10 freshmen to relocate to nearby hotels for a week. 





Two candidates running for freshman class board charged with violations, delaying election results

The Nominations and Elections Committee is pressing charges against two candidates for allegedly violating the Fair Practices Code. Results for the two races involving these candidates — for Wharton Chair and Vice President of Finance — will not be released until after a hearing Sunday.



Undergraduate Assembly votes 17-1 on resolution calling for Penn to divest from fossil fuels

University investments in fossil fuels have been a topic of contention among administrators and students for the past several years, with the undergraduate group Fossil Free Penn largely leading the battle since its creation in 2014. As of Sept. 9, the Undergraduate Assembly has decided to join the fight.
