Penn women’s basketball senior guard Michae Jones wants everyone to understand one thing, if nothing else. Penn Athletics’ Plan of Action, which was released in June in the wake of the brutal murder of George Floyd by Minneapolis police officer Derek Chauvin and ensuing protests against racial injustice and police brutality, would not have come into being without the initiative and direction of Penn’s Black athletes.

Penn women’s soccer’s loss to Princeton on Homecoming Saturday marked the end of the Quakers’ 2019 along with those of the seniors set to graduate in a matter of months. Penn men's soccer searches for offensive dynamism in Brian Gill's second year in charge

During the 2018 season, Penn men's soccer developed a defensive identity by conceding just 15 goals in 16 matches, good for third in the Ivy League. Despite the strong defensive performance, the Quakers struggled mightily on the other end of the pitch, finding the back of the net only 12 times.
