With 38 seconds left to play in Friday’s first Sweet Sixteen matchup at the Wells Fargo Center, thousands of St. Peters fans (and bandwagon Peacocks supporters) cheered on the Cinderella story that was about to take down the heavily-favored Purdue Boilermakers. St. Peters’ bench was much the same, and on the floor below them was a tile on the court that pictured the University of Pennsylvania shield emblem.

This past weekend, Penn women’s swimming finished third in the Ivy League Championships in Cambridge for the highest finish in program history. And two of the biggest contributors to the weekend were junior Catherine Buroker and senior Lia Thomas, who both claimed titles in freestyle events.

The Quakers' men’s and women’s cross country teams had an eventful Friday competing at the NCAA Division I Mid-Atlantic Regional Championship hosted by Lehigh University. The women’s team placed 10th out of 27 teams, and the men’s team finished sixth out of 26 teams. By far, the most impressive performer of the day was men’s senior captain Noah Carey of Guilderland, N.Y.

Coming off a surprising loss at home against Cornell last week, the (3-6, 1-5 Ivy) Quakers traveled to Cambridge, Mass., to take on the (7-2 , 4-2) Harvard Crimson during their senior day. The Quakers showed flashes of dominance, especially on the defensive end, but were unable to piece together a complete performance, as they fell to the Crimson, 23-7.
