Roundtable: Who has been Penn's best spring athlete?

(04/07/15 11:25am)

Midway through Penn Athletics’ spring season, an intriguing combination of players have left an indelible mark on their respective teams’ successes in 2015. In recent weeks, Penn baseball has surged ahead, winning seven of eight Ivy games in dominating fashion, yet with no single person responsible for the hot streak. The women’s lacrosse and softball teams are humming along as well, with their usual cast of stars setting the tone for the Quakers.

Roundtable | Where does Penn basketball need to improve?

(12/01/14 3:46am)

Penn basketball has gotten off to an inauspicious start to the 2014-15 season, losing all five of its games. The Quakers are one of 14 winless teams left in the NCAA, having suffered some close defeats to Delaware State, Lafayette and Wagner. (11/12/14 4:41am)

The beginning of basketball season is right on the horizon (aka this weekend) and both programs will take to the court with plenty of fresh faces. (11/04/14 4:46am)

This weekend, the AP came out with its first top 25 poll for the 2014-15 men's basketball season. For the first time since 1975, an Ivy League team made the preseason top 25, but it wasn't Penn this time: It was Harvard, led by high-profile coach Tommy Amaker. The Crimson were tied for 25th and will have a lot to live up to being a ranked Ivy squad. Our editors debate what this means for Penn and the Ivy League:

Penn Women's Basketball Recruit Roundup: Class of 2019

(10/20/14 7:47pm)

With the season on the horizon for Penn women’s basketball, it only seems appropriate to take a look ahead at the future of the team. With coach Mike McLaughlin’s prowess for successful recruiting – all four of his classes have produced the Big 5 Rookie of the Year – it doesn’t come as much of a surprise that the commits for the Class of 2019 have been strong so far.

The Good, the Bad and the Ugly: Penn football vs. Villanova

(09/27/14 10:32pm)

After a quick first quarter drive by VIllanova, it became immediately clear there would be more Bad and Ugly for Penn football than Good.  The Quakers would go on to lose 41-7 to No. 6 Villanova in the team's home opener at Franklin Field. But out of every loss, there's usually some ounce of good - even in a game against a ranked team that serves more as demotivation than preparation.
