Penn students say ‘inconsistent’ financial aid policies leave them unsure about tuition costs

College freshman Cassandra Jobman received $25,000 for her tuition after winning the Chick-Fil-A’s True Inspiration Award. She applied for the scholarship after receiving financial aid through Student Registration and Financial Services, which would require her family to pay $4,000 per year, or $16,000 total over four years.

After applying for countless work-study positions last fall, College and Wharton freshman Elliot Miciek was disappointed to learn that the only offer he received was a tutoring job for two hours a week. It paid just $17 a week, after taxes. After applying to more jobs at the start of this semester, Miciek was discouraged yet again at the lack of responses.

But now, with his newly developed video game, Moore has finally brought the two together.
