Homewood Suites, owned by Hilton Hotels and Resorts, will have a soft opening May 1 with operations fully open to the public. The hotel, located at 4109 Walnut St., broke ground in December 2010. The 11-story building houses 136 suites with bedrooms and kitchenettes. The dining room seats about 50. Other amenities include a fitness center, an indoor pool and hot tub and a sweet shop in the main lobby that will serve snacks, milk and frozen dinners.
Sorority girls perform at Pi Kappa Phi’s annual War of the Roses dance competition. Chi Omega won first place, Sigma Kappa won second and Delta Delta Delta came in third.
Natives at Penn — a group that aims to celebrate Native American heritage and to increase visibility and awareness of native cultures on campus — hosted their third annual powwow at Wynn Commons Saturday afternoon. The powwow drew more than ten performers from around the country, who donned their traditional tribal clothing, a colorful reminder of Native roots and heritage.
