The Great Lake

Penn lost a legend today as Dan Staffieri, better known as "Coach Lake", passed away.

Whether zooming around the field in his helmet-shaped golf cart on game day, chanting through his microphone on Locust Walk or simply dropping into a volleyball practice for a pep talk, Coach Lake embodied the Penn spirit.

From his signature red and plaid ensemble to the Ivy Champ rings adorning each hand, Lake specialized in anything but subtlety. Almost anyone who ever met him will remember his signature "How you doing?"... "Oh, very well!" call and response or the booming "Here we go Quakers, here we go!" through his microphone.

So in his honor, check out some great old posts on the spirit of Penn Athletics, including a Street feature on him.
