Mayor and Penn alum Cherelle Parker nominated nine individuals to the inaugural Philadelphia Board of Education, including Penn affiliates, and Marylyn Ritchie was appointed as the first Vice Dean of Artificial Intelligence and Computing for the Perelman School of Medicine. 

But first, Amy Wax slammed the University's investigation against her inflammatory comments and Penn’s free expression policies in a recent interview.

Amy Wax calls Penn speech code 'bullshit'

Penn Carey Law professor Amy Wax — who has previously elicited controversy for her racist remarks — denounced the legitimacy and objectivity of the University's speech code amid her ongoing disciplinary proceedings. In an interview with Glenn Loury, a professor of economics at Brown University, she contended that she was being punished by the University's "partisan" and "bullshit" speech code for her "standard conservative takes on very important social issues."

  Penn lecturer Lauren Footman was fired as Delaware County's DEI director after filing a racial discrimination complaint against her employer. 

  Mayor and Penn graduate Cherelle Parker nominated nine individuals, including three Penn alumni, to serve on the inaugural Philadelphia Board of Education.

In 2008, the DP reported that Penn's overall acceptance rate had risen to 16.4% for the Class of 2012 — unlike other Ivy League schools, all of whom reported record-low numbers.While Penn did not explicitly release its acceptance rate for the Class of 2028, the University announced the largest application pool in its history.
