Good morning, Penn.

Congrats on making it through yet another cold week of midterms. While The Daily Pennsylvanian is committed to honest reporting, it appears as though Punxsutawney Phil is not.

Penn’s Chabad House hosted an event centered on the experiences of Millet Ben Haim, a survivor of the Oct. 7 Hamas attacks on the Nova Festival in Israel, and a program operated by Makuu, Penn's Black Cultural Center, is bringing together students interested in social justice to provide mentorship, academic resources, and a nurturing community for Black students.

But first, the DP spoke with multiple Penn student voters about their thoughts on President Joe Biden's policies pertaining to the ongoing Israel-Hamas war.

Biden's Israel-Hamas war policies divide students

In the 2020 presidential election, two results were clear on Penn's campus: Joe Biden won by an overwhelming margin, and students turned out in unprecedented numbers.

Four years later, the climate has changed. Students on both sides of the political spectrum are expressing varying levels of support for Biden, particularly in light of the Israel-Hamas war. Some are commending the strong relationship he has maintained with Israel, while others condemn Biden for allegedly mishandling the growing humanitarian crisis in Gaza.

Multiple Penn students and prospective voters shared their thoughts on Biden's stance on the conflict heading into the 2024 presidential election. Read more about what they said here

Fetterman's stance has gained him recent attention and varying support from Penn students — some of whom applauded his strong stance, while others criticized him.
