The Volleyball team won both of its matches this weekend, beating Columbia 3-1 yesterday before pulling out a 5-set thriller against Cornell.
The Quakers dropped the first set to Columbia, 25-22, and then won three in a row. Julia Swanson had her best in a string of good games, amassing 21 kills on .432 hitting. Megan Tryon had 54 assists, two shy of her career-high.
Against Cornell, the Quakers won the first set, 29-27, behind a number of timely kills. After dropping the next two sets, the Quakers battled back to win the fourth set, 25-20. They won the fifth set, 16-14, on an ace by Julia Swanson. On the point before that, Anne Magnuson registered her team-leading 14th kill and Madison Wojchiechowski broke the match record for digs with 40.
With the win, the Quakers moved into third place in the Ivy League.
