Both Penn men's and women's tennis experienced highs and lows this weekend, splitting the weekend with a 1-1 record with both teams defeating Cornell and losing to Columbia.

At the Princeton Invitational, which was played over a shortened 36 holes at Springdale Golf Club, due to concerns about inclement weather, men’s golf finished in second place out of twelve teams.

With the women coming in first for the first time since 1996 at the Ivy League Indoor Heptagonal Championships, and the men’s second place finish marking their best since 2002 at the Heps, the team’s goals this season are set higher than ever.

The men's team is red hot right now, winning its fifth straight match and ninth straight home match in a row. The Quakers soared to victory, crushing Ivy-League rival Princeton 6-1 at home. On the women's side, Penn struggled, falling to the Tigers on the road 2-5.

Penn women’s golf is competing in the "Match Madness" tournament on Saturday and Sunday in Branchburg, NJ. The Quakers will face off against Princeton, Columbia, and Seton Hall in a special match play format.

 The No. 58 Red and Blue secured their fourth-highest score of the season at 193.200, but it wasn’t enough to compete with a record-setting group of opponents at the ECAC Championships at the Palestra. No. 52 Yale won the meet with a school record 195.325, and the Quakers took fourth place in the six-team competition.

At ECACs, the Quakers will have the chance to take on rivals Brown, Cornell, Temple, William and Mary, and Yale. Although they’ve had meets against these teams during the regular season, the stakes are now much, much higher.
