The Texas women blazed to the college 4x100-meter relay title in 43 seconds flat, the third fastest time ever run at the Penn Relays. The Longhorns edged defending champ South Carolina, meaning the Gamecocks will not be able to defend their record four relays titles from a year ago. South Carolina finished third, six tenths off the pace.

Elsewhere, the Texas men, one of the favorites in the 4x100 failed to qualify for tomorrow's championship race. Texas A&M had the fastest time in today's heats at 39.90. Oregon, making its first appearance at the Relays in several years, slid into the final spot at 40.73. Penn finished 41st overall at 42.40.
