The president of Barnard College is weighing the possibility of adding an admissions policy for transgender students, the New York Times reports.
Barnard President Debora L. Spar wrote a letter to the student body about the issue at hand, saying, "The time has come for us to examine how we, as a women’s college, define ‘women,’ and how, consequently, we both admit and graduate students."
The letter also said that the school would likely have a series of town hall meetings in early 2015 to discuss the policy before the Board of Trustees considered changes.
