Construction work outside of 1920 Commons at 38th Street and Locust Walk, which has been going on for over a week, is related to routine utility work on the Perry World House.

The $17 million Perry World House project was announced in January 2013. The house is set to be a hub for research and discussion on international studies, global policymaking and other pressing global issues. A primary purpose of the center is to encourage interdisciplinary collaboration between all twelve of Penn’s schools. In addition, the center wants to support relationships abroad for both Penn faculty and students.

The Perry World House’s primary entrance will be at 38th and Locust.

Construction for Perry World House is expected to be complete in January of 2016. However, when contacted for this article, a representative from Facilities and Real Estate Services did not know when the construction outside of Commons will be completed.
