The Undergraduate Assembly discussed health and alcohol concerns at their meeting this Sunday.
Ivy Alcohol Symposium
The UA is in the early stages of planning an alcohol symposium for the Ivy Plus schools. The symposium will take place at Penn from Feb. 21 – 22, and five schools —as well as 30 registrants— have already agreed to attend. The names of those schools were not available at the time of publication.

Possible topics that will be discussed at the symposium include off-campus and registered parties. More information will be available when details are finalized.
Health Group Umbrella Organization
UA representative and College sophomore Julie Bittar updated the assembly on the new Penn Undergraduate Health Coalition. The group, which had its second meeting this past week, was created to “centralize advocacy and educational efforts related to health at Penn and beyond.”
Bittar was elected president at this past week’s general body meeting. She will serve as a representative to university administrators for the PUHC groups.
Admitted Student Outreach
UA representative and Wharton junior Christian Cortes gave an update about a successful initiative to increase communication between current student leaders and admitted students.

The program, which is being piloted with Early Decision admits, involves choosing interest categories through an online form in order to facilitate connection with relevant student leaders. The UA is working with Dean of Undergraduate Admissions Eric Furda to evaluate the results of the pilot before the Regular Decision cycle.
