The killing of University City food truck operator Don Ly remains unsolved.

The search for the person who stabbed Ly early Thursday morning has not yet yielded any suspects or persons of interest, according to Officer Jillian Russell with the Philadelphia Police Department.

Russell said that detectives are continuing to investigate the case in hopes of making an arrest.

Ly was killed outside of his home on the 400 block of Vollmer Street in South Philadelphia while loading his fruit cart at approximately 5 a.m. Police say he was stabbed multiple times by an unknown suspect. Authorities transported Ly to the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania, where he was pronounced dead.

He had operated a cart selling fruit on the intersection of 34th and Walnut streets with his family since 1995. He is survived by a wife and four children.

A memorial with flowers has been set up in the spot where Ly’s food truck stood.

Funeral services will be held this Friday and Saturday at the Preah Buddha Rangsey Temple at 2400 S. 6th St. in Philadelphia.

There will be a viewing from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m. Friday, immediately followed by a service. A funeral mass will be held Saturday morning at 9:30 a.m.

His family has established a memorial fund in his name. People wishing to donate money can send it the Don Ly Trust at 426 Vollmer St., Philadelphia, PA 19148. The Ly family is holding a candlelight vigil on April 25 at 7 p.m. at their home on Vollmer St.
