Outside of the basketball programs, seven other Penn squads will be searching for wins this weekend.

After suffering its only Ivy League loss this season to Harvard two weeks ago, Penn gets a chance at revenge this Saturday in the Palestra when the Crimson come into town. But first, Penn will have to face Dartmouth — a clear underdog in this matchup, and yet one that Penn had a hard time handling two weeks ago in Hanover during a 64-61 win.

The upcoming game at Princeton on Tuesday will answer the questions as to whether or not Penn has solidified its unique identity and can take the next step from good to great, but what people can’t put into question as of right now is the Quakers’ surprising dominance across the board.

After finishing last out of four teams in its first meet of the season, the Lindsey Ferris Invitational, with a relatively low score of 190.375, Penn gymnastics (1-2, 0-1 Ivy) hopes to bounce back this upcoming weekend as it travels to New Haven to take on Yale, both teams' first one-on-one Ivy League matchup in 2018.

Both the men’s and women’s teams experienced an inconsistent meet, picking up wins against host Dartmouth, 249-104 and 235-118 respectively, but suffering big losses to Yale, 123-230 and 80-273 respectively.

You could call them the Superior Six. Seniors May Bethea, Joe Heyob, Marc Mastropietro, Frank Mattiace, Joe Oliva, and Joe Velliquette might not look like the most uniform group of guys. Their weights vary from 140 to 200 pounds and everywhere in between — and yet their uniformly strong leadership elevates them above the rest.

He won't be getting any minutes for Penn men's basketball, but he just might be the team's most impactful player of the season — Penn has just acquired Hypoplastic Left Heart Syndrome patient and 12-year-old Tommy Johnston.

Penn football will face off against the Harvard Crimson in a historic rivalry dating back to 1881. The last two years, Penn has come out on top, and the Quakers hope to continue that trend on Saturday.

The team has cruised to a dominant 6-0 start in Colonial States College Hockey Conference play and boasts an overall record of 7-2. Their last game against Seton Hall University ended in a lopsided 9-1 Quaker victory.

Penn sprint football has cruised to a dominant 2-0 start this season thanks to the help of some key freshman talent. So far, the Quakers have outscored their helpless opponents 89-13 with new faces contributing on both sides of the ball.
