These options vary by semester, location and roommates. Overall, Penn’s Residential and Off-Campus services both suggest planning well in advance of your trip to avoid extra fees and frustration.









West Philly libraries, key to student success, struggle to exist

While Penn students might dread their weekend visits to Van Pelt Library, it is clear from the crowded cubicles and GSRs that the University would lose a valuable resource if its doors were closed. This is exactly the situation in which Philadelphia elementary school students find themselves. Because of extensive budget cuts, students are locked out of their school libraries without access to books or trained librarians.











Penn alums behind the scenes in Hollywood

Jennifer Gwartz, a 1990 College graduate, could count on a familiar name appearing in her inbox every Wednesday morning of 2005. Rob Forman, then a Wharton undergraduate, had recognized Gwartz’s name while searching through the alumni directory looking for a job. He had seen the name in the credits as “Co-executive Producer” of one of his favorite television shows, “Veronica Mars.” The show aired on Tuesday nights, so Forman decided to send Gwartz his thoughts each week following the airing.
