Penn President Amy Gutmann broke her silence on President Donald Trump Monday evening, calling his executive order on immigration “injurious to our work and inimical to our values.” Gutmann’s speech came during a Faculty Senate protest on College Green over Trump’s controversial order, which temporarily banned immigration from seven majority-Muslim countries.

Nearly every Penn student knows now how former Vice President Joe Biden plans to "set up shop" at Penn now that his term is completed. Biden, a Pennsylvania native and longtime former U.S. Senator from Delaware, has long had a close relationship with Penn. Biden was later caught on a hot mic describing his plan to work on "foreign policy initiatives" at Penn during a ceremony in the Senate, visited Penn Law School with his granddaughter, Naomi, and called Penn President Amy Gutmann his "new boss" during an event where he received the Presidential Medal of Freedom.










Gutmann, Trump and Pence respond to Friday night shooting

After a gunman shot a Penn Police officer, a Philadelphia Police sergeant and four civilians just blocks away from campus on Friday night, Penn President Amy Gutmann released a statement midday on Saturday, while the Republican presidential and vice presidential nominees responded via Twitter. The email was sent to undergraduates at 2:28 p.m. the day after the shooting.
