During the first two weeks of class, it's common to see hoards of students rushing down Locust Walk with their heads down as they scramble to log into Penn InTouch on their phones. The website, which is notoriously difficult to use on mobile devices, is known to crash when more than 5 percent of the student population is logged in at the same time.

IFC ends plans to appoint diversity chair; takes other efforts to expand diversity

The Interfraternity Council announced last March it was looking to introduce a diversity chair position to its executive board. A year later, however, the IFC board is still without a diversity chair and is no longer searching for one. Instead, the group is looking to address diversity in other ways.

The Interfraternity Council published the attendance rates of fraternities at various mandatory educational programs for the first time last September. The results indicated that only five of Penn's 27 fraternities managed to meet the attendance mandate.

Director of Fraternity and Sorority Life Eddie Banks-Crosson will transition into his new role as the director of Wharton's MBA Office of Student Life. He will start in his new position in February, according to an email from University spokesperson Monica Yant Kinney.
