Lisa Cutler (C ’19) knows that we are on the brink of a revolution. Or maybe one that started a couple months ago.

“It’s our social responsibility as active and enlightened citizens to be aware of what’s happening in the world,” she told us when approached for comment at a recent protest against gun violence. “That said,” added Cutler, lowering her voice and glancing around shiftily, “it’s definitely a bummer. There’s so much information out there. It’s overwhelming.”

It’s a full-time job to follow the 24-hour news cycle. That’s why Cutler made the big decision to stop reading any news sources and just get all her information from conversations with her friends, who, Cutler assured us, “are talking about it all the time, anyway.”

Cutler has reported that, since deleting her CNN and NYT apps, her optimism has been at a record high. When asked about Russian involvement in Syria, Cutler briefly looked confused and declined to comment.
