Suspicious Water Main Break Derails 1920 Commons "APPLE FEST"

We've had our calendars marked for months. November 7th, the first day of APPLE FEST. All we wanted to do was eat some "apple inspired dishes" (Question: do these dishes contain apples, or just take inspiration from them?) in the charmingly unwelcoming atmosphere of 1920 Commons. Even that was too much to ask.

Only four hours after announcing APPLE FEST on its Facebook page, marking the first time Commons has been called "the apple of our eye", Penn Dining declared everyone's favorite dining hall closed due to a water main break. The break is likely responsible for the flooding on Spruce Street, but we don't know enough about civil engineering to be sure.

Campus continues to fall apart in the days leading up to the election. If something has to go, we suppose Commons isn't such a bad thing to sacrifice. Let's just hope that whoever is elected will allow us to enjoy the rest of APPLE FEST in peace.
