Uber Is Illegal In Philly??

You may want to think twice about your 99 cent ride to DRL tomorrow, because UBER IS NOW ILLEGAL IN PHILADELPHIA.

Technically Uber (and Lyft too, but who cares?) has been operating above the law since its launch in 2014, but got temporary authorization in Philly three months ago. Which expired Friday night.

It probably won't matter though, as Uber will continue to run normally and the odds of you being caught in the midst of a sting operation on your way to Banana Leaf are probably pretty low. Luckily for all of us, riding in an Uber doesn't seem to be a crime-- just driving for Uber. Still, if you're trying to live life on the edge and jaywalking across 38th street just isn't cutting it, calling an Uber might give you the rush you need.
