Screenwriter/Producer Of "Spotlight" Coming To Penn

Tomorrow – yes, tomorrow! – Josh Singer, the Oscar-winning screenwriter/producer of this year's Best Picture, Spotlight, will be speaking at the Annenberg Center. Doors open at 4 p.m., and the event starts at 4:30 p.m.

Singer was born in Philadelphia but went to Yale, which is a serious betrayal. That's probably where he got the experience necessary to properly portray the sense of betrayal felt by many in the Boston Catholic community when the truth came out about their religious leaders.

Joining Singer is Neal Huff, who played survivor Phil Saviano. It was an important role, to be sure, but was Huff really the best Penn could get? Was Michael Keaton busy? Do Mark Ruffalo, Rachel McAdams, and Stanley Tucci all have a potluck that Wednesday? We can only assume Liev Schreiber and John Slattery are spending the whole day drinking beer and doing chin-ups.
