What's HapPENNing?

If you're reading this, it means you've made it to the final stretch before spring break. You've come a long way since January, friends! As a lil' pre-spring gift from us to you, we've gone ahead and marked (***) the events this week that have free food. You're so welcome! No, YOU'RE literally the sweetest.

Tuesday

If you're confused about what these PILOTs everyone's been talking about lately are, or you wanna know the story behind Amy's infamous Christmas party, or you're just a decent human being in favor of funding for public schools, head over to Houston at 7.***

If issues overseas are more your thing, check out The Road To Unification and hear from Penn professors and Korean officials about the impact of Korean division on global politics and possible roads to unification. No word yet about whether this includes a screening of The Interview, but we're gonna go with no.

Wednesday

Join the author of Disruptors for a talk about trading traditional office jobs for your own entrepreneurial venture. Honestly, with a title like "Escaping Corporate America" how could you not attend? Screw recruiting, you are nobody's bitch. This is your chance to take your solo show on the road and make a cool mil before age 25.

Thursday

This is a rare opportunity at Penn to hang out with a very important finance guy and talk about very fancy finance things like Bretton Woods and Bitcoin in an intimate lecture hall setting. As one of the comments aptly notes, this is a really cool event "coz we all love money <3!"***

Philly Pick of the Week

When we're all caught up in our Ubering and Grubhubbing, it's easy to forget that Philly is old as hell and has a ton of amazing historical traditions, like the annual Philadelphia Flower Show that's seriously been happening every year SINCE 1828. As in 187 years. It's the world's largest and oldest indoor flower show, featuring gardens, classes and demonstrations, and large-scale flower installations.
