Your First Look At Penn's New Eateries

Five months after the shops in the Radian's shadow  were supposed to open, we're finally seeing signs of life. We took a look beyond the chain-link fence to give you a first glimpse at the new restaurants at 40th and Sansom:

Zesto Pizza & Grill

In three words: An upscale Allegro's.

Where you know them from: The Philly 'burbs.

Their Bread and Butter: Pizza and Grill.

Don't Miss: An easy-to-use online ordering/delivery system.

Best For: Sunday football (21-serving hoagie tray for $44.99!!)

Dunkin Donuts

In two words: Another one?

Where you know them from: Like, two blocks down Walnut.

Their Bread and Butter: Coffee and Doughnuts you can't buy with Dining Dollars.

Kosher-friendly options: Coffee and Doughnuts, but see above.

BYO: Mug.

Don't Miss: Saxby's Coffee, one block away.

Bonus: Skip OCR, get hired by Dunkin! (see above).

Jake's Sandwich Board

In three words: Sweetgreen for Him.

Where you know them from: Their downtown location at 12th and Sansom.

Their Bread and Butter: Giving cute names to meaty sandwiches (veggies and beef bacon is called "The Hypocrite" and "Skinny Turkey" on a carved-out wheat roll).

Kosher-friendly options: None, officially. They do serve "Mensch" and "Megillah" brisket sandwiches, though. 

BYO: Nope.

Don't Miss: The "shareable feast of house-roasted pork" for 2-10 people.

Whirled Peace Frozen Yogurt

In three words: Closer than Kiwi.

Where you know them from: Downtown, on 19th and Callowhill.

Perfect for: Post-workout, post-hangover, post-chapter, post-menstrual, post-breakup.

Flavor profile: Funky (Ooey Gooey Cinnamon Bun, Malted Candy Easter Egg, Dreamy Dark Chocolate, Caribbean.
