Happy Monday Quakers! Here’s your weekly dose of Penn and Philly events. This week is teeming with events – enough to warrant skipping class/mixers/naps/GBMs of all origin and nature/everything else. Allow us to break it down for you.

Today: Latin@ Heritage Month Kick Off – 12 pm La Casa Latina (Suite G-12 ARCH building)

Starting today until October 15, La Casa Latina will be hosting parties, lectures, and even a field trip. See the full list of Latin@ Heritage Month events here.

Today: Coffee Chats with the Wharton Alliance – 5 pm Saxby Coffee

This is essentially Wharton 101 taught by older, wiser Whartonites who will help you avoid the faux pas they made. Get a mentor, some coffee, and probably an internship.

Wednesday: The Writer’s Palette with Zadie Smith – 5 pm Harrison Auditorium, Penn Museum

1. Her name is Zadie. 2. We’re 97.896% sure she has a British accent. Come see this incredible author speak about her award-winning novels. Swooning encouraged, but optional.

Thursday: Baltimore Avenue Dollar Stroll – 5:30 pm 43rd to 51st and Baltimore

A long-standing and much loved West Philly tradition, mosey down Baltimore and get $1 deals from local businesses. And yes, there will also be live jugglers.

Thursday: HerCampus & Lean In Present: Campus Kickoff Watch Party w/ Sheryl Sandberg – 7:30 pm (location announced upon RSVP)

Facebook CEO takes to Penn once more for a discussion and, if you stay long enough, a photo op for your LinkedIn. Can you say hired?

Friday: Carriage Senior Society Fall Smoker – 8 pm 3819 Walnut

You’ve been tapped to hobnob with the finest members of Penn’s LGBTQIA senior society. Apply online and prepare to pledge party!

Friday: JHP’s Shabbat for 2000 – Lubavitch House (4032 Spruce)

Let them eat cake! By them we mean us, and by cake we mean challah. Sign up to host a dinner, or crash your friend’s. Get free food either way.

Saturday: CollegeFest 2014 – 10 am Philadelphia Art Museum Steps

Unlike a frat party, you might enjoy yourself here! Oodles of food trucks and vendors, free entry into the museum, and 5,000 other college students from around Philly.

Saturday: FRACKIT Promotional Party – 12 pm City Tap House balcony

1 hour open bar to celebrate the launch of FRACKIT – frat jackets you can wear with reckless abandon. Now instead of losing your favorite coat, you’ll lose a different coat that you still paid money for! Ah, sweet serenity.

Saturday: Bro Safari – 8:30 pm The Electric Factory

Couldn’t be more clueless as to what this is, but let’s be serious, it’s either this or another optimistic night out at Rumor ending in disappointment...so by default…
