What's HapPENNing?

It's the end of September. In many ways, things are autumnal af and October seems appropriate, but then again, it was 80+ degrees and sunny at Skimmerfest. Fall break is in ten days, which seems logical, and yet our iPhone app promises temps in the high 70s all week. Little is certain in these trying times, but the following events are definitely happening this week, so read on.

Tuesday & Wednesday: Junior Welcome Back Picnic/Sophomore Welcome Back Picnic, 6 p.m., Amy G's House

Madame President graciously opens the doors of her Walnut Street mansion for the Class of 2016 on Tuesday and 2017 on Wednesday – for precisely one hour of free food, crowds and photo ops with the blonde bombshell.. Do not miss this this opportunity, middleclassmen.

Wednesday: Q&A with Shaun T, 5:30 p.m., Irvine

If you think your workout regimen at Pottruck is INSANTITY, think again. And pick the brain of fitness guru/muscle man Shaun T. Fo free.

Wednesday: Free For All at the ICA, 6:30 p.m., Institute for Contemporary Art

Our on-campus art museum is open late with free admission...and is featuring punk rocker Littler and "experimental drag darling" Teena Geist. How many wonders can one gallery hold?

ThursdaySt. Elmo Speakeasy, 7 p.m., 3627 Locust Walk

First Elmo open mic of the year. Will inevitably feature acoustic singer-songwriters of varying levels of alternativeness and quality. Proceeds benefit West Philadelphia Alliance for Children!

ThursdayNight Market Chinatown, 7 p.m., 10th and Race Streets

Probably better than Beijing.

Friday: Wharton Undergraduate Marketing Conference, 8:30 a.m., Huntsman

WUMC 2014 is a one day conference that starts at an ungodly hour and fulfills Penn's preprofessional stereotype beautifully. You can network with Wall Street moneypeople. It's also free for Penn students now!
