You spend all of your time going through the college process, apply somewhere early and are thankful to get in to your first choice college. The application process is over, right?
Wrong if you are Amelia Currin, a 17-year-old from North Carolina. The high school senior got into Sweet Briar College through early admissions but recently found out that the college will be closing down before the next school year.
Amelia spoke about this experience to the Washington Post, writing about what it was like to find out that she has to start finding a new place for school next fall.
“This can’t be real,” I said to myself. But I quickly realized this was no snarky joke—the reality was as potent as a bee sting," she wrote.
She proceeded to compare the experience to an episode of The Twilight Zone, saying that Sweet Briar should have been more honest.
