On Feb. 10, three Muslim students at UNC-Chapel Hill were murdered and the prosecutor is seeking the death penalty for the suspect.
Craig Stephen Hicks has been charged with first-degree murder after he was accused of killing Deah Shaddy Barakat, Yusor Mohammad Abu-Salha and Razan Mohammad Abu-Salha. The murders are believed to be heavily influenced by the victim's religion and the suspect's religious bias.
The murders sent a shock wave nationwide, leading to vigils at colleges around the country, including Penn.
